Athina Antoniadou, studied at the CCAC in Oakland, California, from 1981-1985. In 1994 she ran away from a PhD in Fine Art, at the Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, Spain (1989-1994). In 2006 she co-ran KITA, an underground artist community in Berlin, where she lived from 2000-2013. Her travels and work took her to places like Sweden, Holland, Greece, Italy, Czech Republic, England, Egypt, Israel, France, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil. Her work is mostly autobiographical.
She travels and documents encounters of the soul, mind and body, independently of institutions and artistic trends. She poses questions on the artistic responsibility, about the nature of reality, of illusion and death…and surges within those larger questions of life, who are we? where did we come from? what are we doing here? Where are we going?
